Terry Fox Day: Friday, September 17th

This Friday we will be celebrating Terry Fox's Marathon of Hope by participating in a run. Students have been asked to wear Canada clothes they can jog in. During Chapel we will watching a video clip of Terry's journey and discussing the significance of this Canadian hero. If you are interested in joining us, please feel free to! We will be congregating on the field at 2:00pm. The run will take about 20 minutes and then students will be dismissed for the day. Remember to wear something you can jog in!

Weekly Update: September 13th-17th

Hello Elementary Students and Parents,

Well, the first week was a success! It was great to see all the students in Chapel on Friday, and to be given the opportunity to welcome all new students to the WRCA community. Even Mr. Loewen was 'jumping' for joy (ask your child about Mr.Loewen's leap into the air, very funny!).

Thank you to those parents that have signed up for supervision duty. The service you are providing the students and staff is awesome, and we appreciate it. Without your help, teachers would not be able to have lunch as a staff, which helps us build community with each other. There are some spots still open for September. If you haven't already and would like to, please come into the office and sign up for a shift or two.

This coming week we have our annual parent meeting (Thursday night, New Parents at 6:30 pm and all parents meeting at 7:30pm). This year we have changed the structure of the evening so that all three schools can talk with parents about curriculum, sports, and activities such as 4/5 camp. The elementary staff will be presenting at the meeting, and will be there to answer any general questions or inquires parents might have. We are very excited for this opportunity to speak with parents!

As an elementary staff, our desire is to provide your children with the best academic, physical, emotional and spiritual opportunities. We are committed to encouraging and uplifting your children so that they can achieve whatever God has planned for their lives today, tomorrow, and throughout their own life's journey. We are honoured to be part of their journey and yours.
