IMPORTANT ELEMENTARY MEETING K-3

Dear Primary Families,

On Monday, December 13th, we will be holding a very important information meeting which will take place at the school from 7-8:30pm in the chapel.

The goal of this meeting will be to share the vision for Christian education at White Rock Christian Academy, including current direction for the future of the school. You will hear from the Board about the history and background of our school, where we are at today and the steps that will be taken as we move into this new chapter in our history.

Please come prepared to ask questions and to be inspired to partner with us as we move forward.

Attached you will find an update to the Society meeting from the Property Search Committee.

I look forward to seeing you there,

December Supervision Schedule

We are still in need of Parent Supervisors. If you are available, please sign up in the office.

Friday, November 5, 2010

Hello Parents and Students of Elementary,

With winter approaching and the weather turning colder and colder, we in Elementary have been discussing student attire. We would like to encourage all parents to purchase a WRCA sweater, if you haven't already. When you do, please write your child's first and last name on the inside tag. These sweaters do not only look great, but they are very warm and, well, mandatory uniform at WRCA! A new policy that we are implementing is students are encouraged to keep a pair of running shoes in their classroom indoor wear. Boots can be worn to school and during outside break times. Before going outside for recess or lunch students will be given the opportunity to change into their boots. This policy will help keep students' feet warm and will keep our classrooms cleaner.

I also want to ask the parent community for their support in helping keep our children safe at lunch recess. We are in need of more parent supervisors from 12:00 to 12:45. Thank you to many of you who have faithfully shown up and supervised our children.

Sincerely,

The Elementary Staff of WRCA

Happy Thanksgiving

Hello Elementary Parents,

Happy Thanksgiving! I don't know about you, but it starting to feel more and more like Fall, especially as we prepare for Thanksgiving. As a staff we wish your family a great holiday weekend, as we offer our gratitude and thanks to God for all he's blessed us with.

Please be reminded that our summer uniform is finished October 6th and that your child is expected to return to school Tuesday, October 12th in their full uniform. Kindergarten to Grade 2 students may come in their gym strip on their gym days. Grade 3 to 6 students will continue to change into their gym strip at school. Please assist your child in this process by ensuring that each of their uniform pieces is clearly labeled and that they are stored in a labeled cloth bag. We have found that plastic bags easily rip and spill the contents when student return to class. Ties and sweater can be left in the classroom during the changing process os that they don't get forgotten in the change rooms.

K to 6 Girl's Uniform:
White Blouse, Sweater (for cool mornings), tunic or jumper, black shoes & navy socks

K to 6 Boys Uniform:
White shirt, gray pants, tie, sweater (for cool mornings), black shoes/mostly black runners, navy socks

The 8 week Mad Science program also begins Tuesday, October 19th to Decemeber 7th from 2:45-3:45 pm in the Kindergarten room. Please ensure that your child is picked up promptly form these classrooms at 3:45.

As a staff we wish you a Happy Thanksgiving!

Angelique, Patti, Melissa, Kathe, Lorraine, Paul and Austin.

Weekly Update: September 13th-17th

Hello Elementary Students and Parents,

Well, the first week was a success! It was great to see all the students in Chapel on Friday, and to be given the opportunity to welcome all new students to the WRCA community. Even Mr. Loewen was 'jumping' for joy (ask your child about Mr.Loewen's leap into the air, very funny!).

Thank you to those parents that have signed up for supervision duty. The service you are providing the students and staff is awesome, and we appreciate it. Without your help, teachers would not be able to have lunch as a staff, which helps us build community with each other. There are some spots still open for September. If you haven't already and would like to, please come into the office and sign up for a shift or two.

This coming week we have our annual parent meeting (Thursday night, New Parents at 6:30 pm and all parents meeting at 7:30pm). This year we have changed the structure of the evening so that all three schools can talk with parents about curriculum, sports, and activities such as 4/5 camp. The elementary staff will be presenting at the meeting, and will be there to answer any general questions or inquires parents might have. We are very excited for this opportunity to speak with parents!

As an elementary staff, our desire is to provide your children with the best academic, physical, emotional and spiritual opportunities. We are committed to encouraging and uplifting your children so that they can achieve whatever God has planned for their lives today, tomorrow, and throughout their own life's journey. We are honoured to be part of their journey and yours.
